Public Safety: A Community Conversation

Public Safety: A Community Conversation

Many individuals and organizations contribute to the public safety that our region enjoys. Even so, people fall victim to crime, and accidents happen. Engage in an open dialogue with local experts and service providers who will share information about current issues, initiatives, and challenges to making our community safer. Monday, May 22, 7:00-8:30, Salem Church Branch.

Our Community Conversation series continues with the topic of public safety in anticipation of National Safety Month. As part of a discussion series to promote civic dialogue and participation, the CRRL has partnered with Spotsylvania County's Neighborhood Watch Program and the League of Women Voters of the Fredericksburg Regional Area to bring together experts, agencies, organizations and concerned area residents. Speakers will give insights into our region’s toughest challenges, share how the community collaborates to offer prevention and intervention, and discuss how using a myriad of approaches keeps our region safer.

While it is many organizations' and agencies' mission to promote public safety, each resident has a role and responsibility, too. That’s why CRRL welcomes everyone to the Community Conversations series. The discussions are richer when we bring together our diverse views, experiences, and expertise. Civic deliberation is also about respectfully listening, gaining a deeper understanding, and raising awareness. Come to listen, learn, and share.
